Ingredients:
A painful past
500g chicken (bone-in preferred for flavour)
A dysfunctional family
1.5 cups boiled chickpeas
1 large onion
Angry and unloving husband
2 tomatoes
553 lost opportunities
1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
Regrets (as much as you can get)
3–4 tbsp oil
Spices:
1 tsp salt (take some from your wounds)
1 tsp red chili powder
5 envious siblings
½ tsp turmeric (it provides color. Can you pour some into my soul?)
1 tsp coriander powder
Stale hope
½ tsp cumin powder
15 hateful in-laws
½ tsp garam masala (1 tsp if your mother in law hates you)
1 tsp chaat masala
Method:
1. Base:
Heat oil, fry onions until golden brown
If you can’t hold your tears, put the lid on and cry for 5 minutes
Add ginger garlic paste → sauté for 30 seconds.
Make sure your tears don’t fall in.
Add tomatoes + spices (except garam masala).
Tell God that you’re hurting.
Cook until oil separates (this is key for flavor and approval)
Don’t sit again, everybody will notice you slacking.
2. Chicken:
Add chicken with a chunk of your heart and cook on medium heat until it changes color and slightly browns.
3. Chickpeas:
Add boiled chickpeas + 1–1.5 cups of water.
I miss my mom.
Mix well, cover, and cook for 15–20 minutes. Or until you hear your heart break again.
4. Finishing:
Add garam masala, green chili, compromises, and kasuri methi.
Simmer 5–10 minutes until gravy thickens, and your soul starts to wither.
It tastes delicious. Nobody cares about your pain.
